When I first started using and designing websites in the late 90's everything was pretty much brochureware, with very infrequently updated content and literally just the same stuff that would go in print brouchures.
Then stuff moved away from brochure content in more regular seasonally updated sites, like levi's quarterly updated sites by Lateral we did as regular as clock work. Or quarterly clock work.
Then the good old content management systems came along meaning the content in the pages of websites could be added to or updated on the fly.
Then we all got blogging and new content started to come through just days or hours ago.
The we got twittering and content got minutes or seconds old.
Then we got chatrouletting and things got live, the internet became a real time window into another bit of reality instead of pre-produced screen graphics. It's a long way to come just to talk to people face to face.
Why is this important? Because live is starting to see some really interesting marketing and audience pick up. Like Hopper Warehouse and Virgin Trains Liverpool Wall and The GTI Project and Doritos Dodgeball.
